PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project will provide landscaping within the medians along Bell Road from Avenue of the Arts (114th Avenue) to Beardsley Canal. A distance of nine miles. The existing median landscaping will be replaced with decomposed granite, or low water use plant materials. The landscaping design plans are complete. This project also includes purchase and installation of lighting along Bell Road from 114th Avenue (Avenue of the Arts)to Beardsley Canal.

PROJECT UPDATE
CURRENT PROJECT STATUS
Construction on the gateway entry monument is nearly complete. The solar equipment that was ordered in September is the last to be installed. Arizona Public Service (APS) has ordered the streetlight poles which will be install the first of next year. The contract for the landscaping portion of the project was brought before Mayor and Council October 22nd, but was not approved. The Mayor and Council elected to address this portion of the project during the FY2011 budget process.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
APS will commence installation of the electrical conduit for the streetlights in November.
