PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Design and installation/construction of fiber optics on Peoria Avenue from Litchfield Road to Cotton Lane and Litchfield Road from Greenway Road to Peoria Avenue for the connection of traffic signals, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) cameras, and changeable message signs. Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) funding is approved in FY2011 in the amount of $800,000.

PROJECT UPDATE
CURRENT PROJECT STATUS
95% plan submittal was sent to ADOT for final review, clearances and approval. Staff is working with ADOT on the intergovernmental agreement that will be presented to council for approval. Plans have been combined with the Litchfield fiber project.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
ADOT has placed all non stimulus related projects on low priority. The consultant has proceeded to the 95% plan submittal stage. City staff will set up a comment resolution meeting with the consultant after they receive comments from ADOT.
