PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for the design and relocation of sewer and irrigation lines that reside in the path of the Loop 303 at Bell Road and Cactus Road. ADOT will design and construct, the city is only required to pay their burden of relocation. Design will start as soon as the city provides ADOT with the upfront costs estimated by ADOT and signs the associated resolution. Actual construction will start shortly after design is complete but current date is unknown at this time. The project wishes to have a 15-20 percent contingency related to construction which is built into the budget transfer request just in case there are additional construction related costs.

PROJECT UPDATE
CURRENT PROJECT STATUS
The sewer line relocation and removal began October 12, 2009. The contractor and the project manager worked to divert the sewer flows prior to coring into the existing utility access holes. The installation of 125' of Polyvinyl Chloride sewer line is 90% complete.

WHAT'S NEXT
The next phase in this project will be the removal of the abandoned sewer line and utility access holes. The modified holes that remain will receive new frames and covers once Bell Road receives paving treatment.
